This 1900 landmark building is part of the National Register of Historic Places. Designed by internationally renowned architects McKim, Mead & White, the State Savings Bank is located on the southeast corner of W. Fort and Shelby Streets across from the Federal Reserve Building. It is a 3-story neoclassical structure in the Beaux Arts-style with a white marble interior. Inside, carved Roman arched colonnades with bronze grillwork decorate the walls.
