Small businesses are the heart and soul of Detroit.

We have pulled together two lists of resources to support local businesses as we manage through these trying times together.

John Varvatos

Iconic menswear designer John Varvatos grew up in Detroit, where he was influenced by the creative spirit, electricity, and edginess of the city’s rock and roll legends. Since launching his New York-based brand in 2000, Varvatos has won a number of awards, including Menswear Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, The Perry Ellis Award for Menswear, and GQ: Designer of the Year. His unique style unites old-world craftsmanship and refined tailoring with modern textiles and a rock ‘n’ roll sensibility, merging the old and new seamlessly.

The brand’s new flagship Midwest store at 1500 Woodward Avenue, a beautifully restored historic building, reinforces the brand’s eclectic style. The 4,000-square-foot store is centrally located in the heart of Detroit’s shopping district, in a distinctive brownstone with decorative carvings, high ceilings, and an industrial chic feel. Detroit’s own Alice Cooper performed at the store’s grand opening, and celebrities walked the black carpet, modeling his fashions. Bedrock is pleased to partner with Varvatos in telling their brand story in an authentic, inspired way.

"I look forward to being a small part of building the future of this great city. Get on the Detroit train. It’s going to be a magical ride."
