May 22, 2019 [DETROIT, MI] – Scoop Technologies (takescoop.com), the largest carpooling provider in the country with more than 6 million carpool trips completed to date, today announced a partnership with Bedrock to bring a convenient and enjoyable carpooling experience to Detroit.
The Scoop app allows local commuters to carpool to work with co-workers and neighbors. Scoop’s algorithm uses pre-scheduled pick-up times in the morning and evening, traffic, and prior trip feedback to dynamically match commuters into carpools. Carpoolers can choose to ride or drive based on their daily schedules and all costs for the commute are split amongst the passengers, so everyone saves.
Starting today, Scoop will immediately be available for residents to commute to and from seven zip codes across Detroit, including 48201, 48226, 48202, 48207, 48208, 48216, and 48209.
“In today’s increasingly busy world, our commutes are taking a toll on us – mentally, physically, and emotionally,” said Robert Sadow, Co-Founder and CEO of Scoop. “We’re proud to partner with Bedrock to help improve what is often one of the worst parts of our day: our commutes. Together, we hope to make commutes even more enjoyable and efficient for local residents, ultimately helping them be happier and less stressed in their day-to-day lives. We’re excited to launch in Detroit – a city that is already on the forefront of transportation innovation – and look forward to aggressively expanding to help commuters across Michigan.”
Scoop will join Bedrock’s growing alternative mobility initiatives, including the May Mobility autonomous shuttle route – the first of its kinds in the U.S. – and Luum, a mobility management software provider powering Bedrock’s commuter benefit and incentives program.
“Bedrock’s goal is to position Detroit at the forefront of mobility innovation, by providing the best alternative transportation experiences for our team members, tenants, and visitors to Detroit,” said Kevin Bopp, VP of Parking & Mobility at Bedrock. “This partnership with Scoop allows us to offer another reliable and effective method for commuting to and through our city. As more and more downtown institutions take advantage of this initiative, Scoop will be able to expand its footprint and invest even more aggressively to serve a broader Michigan base.”
Scoop empowers organizations to provide an impactful commute solution for their workforces, ultimately helping their employees be happier, less stressed, and more productive at work. Scoop offers a comprehensive and customized Managed Carpool Program to each customer, providing onsite marketing, program implementation and management, and reporting.
“As outlined in our Strategic Transportation Plan, we must continue to add more options so people have real choices to get where they want to go. We look forward to working with Scoop to expand this option beyond downtown so it can serve employers across the city,” said Mark de La Vergne, Chief of Mobility Innovation for the City of Detroit.
Bedrock joins more than 50 companies who have partnered with Scoop to offer carpooling to their employees, including LinkedIn, Workday, T-Mobile, and Symantec. Detroit is the sixth major metro market for Scoop, following the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Reno, Portland, and Los Angeles, and the first off of the West Coast.
