630 Woodward
630 Woodward Avenue | Detroit, MI
Home to Bedrock’s headquarters, 630 Woodward puts employees at the heart of the city. Acquired in 2013 the building had a storied history, with uses including Mabley’s department store in 1880 and the Metropole Hotel in 1898. In 2017, the property was transformed into Bedrock’s headquarters by architecture firm Neumann Smith and included main offices, a light-filled top floor atrium, street-level retail and a secret speakeasy. Nods to the city’s history can be seen throughout—from the “green gold” color scheme that pays homage to the lumber industry to the stairway rails that resemble Ford’s Model T windshield.
