630 Woodward

Home to Bedrock’s headquarters, 630 Woodward puts office tenants and retailers at the center of downtown Detroit. The property sits adjacent to Campus Martius Park with ground-floor retail anchored by Chipotle and office space on the upper floors. Acquired in 2013, the four-story property comes with a unique history, including Mabley’s department store in 1880 and the Metropole Hotel in 1898. In 2017, Bedrock moved its headquarters to 630 Woodward and underwent renovations by architecture firm Neumann Smith. Modern renovations included main offices, a light-filled top-floor atrium, street-level retail and a secret speakeasy. Nods to the city’s history can be seen throughout, such as the “green gold” color scheme that pays homage to the lumber industry, to the stairway rails that resemble Ford’s Model T windshield.
