Located northwest of Campus Martius Park, the Fowler Building at 1225 Woodward Ave. sits directly across from the billion-dollar Hudson’s Site development. Built in 1911 and designed by architect firm Donaldson and Meir, the eight-story building boasts a unique terracotta tile façade that makes it distinguishable from other buildings on the block. It is anchored between the historic Kresge and Traver buildings, which were renovated in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Once complete, the Fowler Building will round out development of the 1200 block of Woodward Avenue and bring much-needed office space to Detroit’s active downtown market.
