Between Harmonie Park and Library Park, the high-rise at 1364 Broadway Street was designed by architect George Mason and constructed in 1925 as the Broadway Exchange Building for various offices and stores. The 12-story structure’s style combines Beaux Arts and Neoclassicism, with Romanesque accents added to the terracotta facade. The property was renamed the Harvard Square Center in the 1980s and purchased by Bedrock in 2017. In 2024, Bedrock revealed plans for the newly named building, The Belle. The Belle will be restored as a new mixed-use development combining nearly 8,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and dining with 42 studio, one- and two-bedroom residential units.
