Designed by Daniel Burnham, the city planner behind the White City at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, The May sits on Euclid Avenue directly across from the Cleveland Public Square. The structure was originally built as a luxury department store, but underwent a major historical adaptive reuse project that transformed it into residential, hotel, parking, office and ground-floor retail spaces. The May is close to several sports venues, including Rocket Arena and Progressive Field, and the Warehouse District, featuring some of the best restaurants in the city. The building also has 244 loft-like apartments with modern amenities, the ROOST Cleveland apartment hotel and secured on-site parking.
